Diabetes Focus Group

The Diabetes Focus Group was formed in early 2011 as a way for people who are living with diabetes to get together to  learn and support each other while dealing with this disease. In 2013 the group decided to open the conversation up to anyone with chronic, life altering diseases.

The group’s Mission Statement is:

“The Diabetic Focus Group is dedicated to educating its members and the public about Diabetes, encouraging a healthful lifestyle and providing emotional support for families living with Diabetes.”

Since the group started meeting, they have had several interesting speakers on a variety of topics of interest to someone living with diabetes. At a recent meeting, Dr. Doug Jordan, an Optometrist with Ozark Family Vision Center spoke to the group about eye health. (Pictures from this meeting are below.)

If you or someone you love is living with Diabetes or another chronic disease, the Diabetes Focus Group welcomes you to attend the monthly meetings.   The group meets monthly, on the first Monday of the month, at 10:00 a.m. Meetings are held in Fellowship Hall at the church. Call the church office at 417-546-2584 if you need additional information.
