Daily Lenten Devotion Thursday, April 3

Thursday, April 3, 2014 – Psalm 27; Exodus 1:6-22; 1 Corinthians 12:12-26 and Mark 8:27-9:1

1 Corinthians 12:12-26 – 12For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15If the foot would say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear would say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body.

Yesterday I focused upon the gifts God has given unto us. Today’s reading calls us to realize that each of us is important, no not just important significant to the whole body of Christ.

Today, give thanks for all the different parts of Christ’s body and give thanks for your place within the body. You are important and significant to the functioning of Christ’s body.

O God, I give thanks for all the different parts of Your body and how it takes each and every part for Your body to function as a whole. Thanks for my part within Your body and I help the whole function and glorify you. Amen.
