Daily Lenten Devotion Thursday, March 27

Thursday, March 27, 2014 – Psalm 27; Genesis 46:1-7, 28-34; 1 Corinthians 9:1-15 and Mark 6:30-46

Psalm 27 – 1   The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? …

4   One thing I asked of the LORD,
that will I seek after:
to live in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the LORD,
and to inquire in his temple.

Today I simply invite you to sit with this Psalm. Read it over several times. Simply let the words guide your thoughts.

What does it mean to you that the LORD is your light and your salvation?

What does it mean to seek to live in the house of the Lord?

Something that occurs to me is that being a follower of God is not a pat time job. It’s a full time job. In fact a 24/7 full time job. This is how it was with Jesus and it is how it should be with each of us.

O Lord, you are our light and our salvation. May we trust in you and seek to follow you. May we seek to open our lives fully to you, allowing you to truly be LORD of all our life. Only then will we truly seek to abide in you and have you abide in us. Amen.

The interview with KOLR 10 went well yesterday. Not sure when it will air on the nightly news as some of the news is being preempted by the NCAA basketball tournament. I’ll let you know when I know more. It was a honor to simply be interviewed.

Blessed day to one and all.
