Daily Devotion Tuesday, February 11

Tuesday, February 11, 2014 – Psalm 42; Genesis 26:1-6, 12-33; Hebrews 13:17-25 and John 7:53-8:11

Psalm 42 – 1   As a deer longs for flowing streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God.
2   My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.

My first prayer for each of us is that we long for God.

What’s one of the first thoughts you have in the morning? Is it; “O God! Its morning!” or “O God it is morning. Thank you.” Is God your first thought as you begin your day and on your mind most of the day. I wish I could say that God is on my mind from beginning to end but I can’t. It would make a huge difference in how I go about my day if God was always on my mind and heart.

So that’s a goal I’m setting for myself. That God be my primary focus.

If we can do this, then this will follow.

Hebrews 13:17-25 – 20Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

As we focus upon God and what God has done for us through Jesus Christ then we’ll be made complete and what we do throughout the day will be focused upon God and all that God is working among us.

O God, help us keep our focus upon You and all You have done, are doing amongst us. May our focus be living with and for You the giver of life. Amen.
