Daily Devotion Thursday, January 16

Thursday, January 16, 2014 – Psalm 97; Genesis 4:17-26; Hebrews 3:1-11 and John 1:43-51

Hebrews 3:1-11 – 6Christ, however, was faithful over God’s house as a son, and we are his house if we hold firm the confidence and the pride that belong to hope.

John 1:43-51 – 43The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

Today, I’m going to keep my daily devotional very simple. I simply want us to hear Jesus saying to us; to you and to me, to all of us but each of us individually – follow me.

You can do this by saying to yourself or out loud; Jesus found _(your name)_ and said, “Follow me.”

Focus upon those two simple words, two words that lead to real life and the true adventure of our life. “Follow me.”

O Lord, I’ve heard your call for me to follow you; yet how often I want to choose the paths I take. Help me trust in you, seek out your directions for me and then may I follow you. Help me to allow you to sit in the driver’s seat. As I do, I truly will find real life. Amen.

Psalm 97 – 12  Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!
