Daily Devotion Wednesday, November 13

Wednesday, November 13, 2013 – Psalm 104; Nehemiah 7:73b-8:3, 5-18 and Nehemiah 5:1-19; Revelation 18:21-24 and Matthew 15:29-39

Matthew 15:29-39 – 0Great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the maimed, the blind, the mute, and many others.

In my ministry at Community Presbyterian Church there are days it seems that God sends the lame, the maimed, the blind, the mute, those without electricity, those needing assistance with rent, those needing some gas. Some days can simply be full of many who have need.

The text today helps for it points out a time when many came to Jesus and he healed them and helped them. The rest of the text is the account of the feeding of the 4,000. It’s interesting to me that with 5 loaves and 2 fish Jesus had fed the 5,000. Now with 7 loaves and a few fish Jesus feeds 4,000. And in both instances they had food left over.

Today, may God take all the water, food and disaster supplies being sent to the islands of the Philippines and feed, cloth and heal all affected by the typhoon. God be with all who lost loved ones. This will only be done as we the church give, act and pray for all of them. May disaster supplies be getting to all the islands. Amen.
