Daily Devotion Tuesday, November 12

Tuesday, November 12, 2013 – Psalm 103; Nehemiah 9:26-38 or Nehemiah 4:1-23
Revelation 18:9-20 and Matthew 15:21-28

Today, 11-12-13 (Nathan – Phyllis and my eldest son’s birthday) I want to focus my devotion on Psalm 103. It’s a great reminder of the blessings God has given us and the blessing we are to be unto God.

Psalm 103 – Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and do not forget all his benefits—

It is God who has given us life. It is God who sustains our life. It is God who has offered and given the gift of salvation through His Son. Thanks and praise be unto God. Bless the Lord, O my soul,  and all that is within me,     bless his holy name.

who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the Pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good as long as you live
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

It is God who forgives all our sin; all our sin, not just some but all. It is God who grants us a new day, new opportunity, new life.

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always accuse,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far he removes our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
14 For he knows how we were made;
he remembers that we are dust.

Thanks be unto God who forgives all our sin, wipes our slate clean and gives us a new start. Thanks be unto God. Bless the Lord, O my soul,  and all that is within me,  bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—

22c Bless the Lord, O my soul.

O God, may I be a blessing unto thee, for you surely have blessed me. Amen.
