Daily Devotion Wednesday, November 6

Wednesday, November 6, 2013 – Psalm 98; Nehemiah 13:4-22 or Haggai 1:1-2:9;
Revelation 12:1-12 and Matthew 13:53-58

Psalm 98 – O sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things.
His right hand and his holy arm
have gotten him victory.
The Lord has made known his victory;
he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.

A couple of my friends on Facebook have been posting reasons they give thanks. Each day leading up to Thanksgiving or maybe throughout November they are posting what they are thankful for. Today would be day 6, let’s see what some of them have posted.

One friend posted; “I am thankful for my wonderful grandchildren.” Another posted, “I am thankful for my wonderful and supportive family! God has blessed me beyond measure with a loving and fun bunch of incredible kids and grandkids!!”

I didn’t start this on November 1 but find it’s not too late to start. Gratitude and thankfulness is something I/we can build into each and every day.

So Day 6; I am thankful for 911 service. It’s a security that I can’t remember being without. The 911 tax issue in Taney County was defeated but I’m confident that a way will be found to keep this service or at least that is my prayer. I plan to do my part by giving a donation to the 911 fund of Taney Country for every cell phone my family has in Taney County. This is something that I can do because I’m thankful for this service.

I’m also thankful for all God has done and is doing for us through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. Today, I plan to live in ways that affirm my love and trust in God.

O God, help me be thankful for all you do. Help me be a blessing unto you, unto others and unto my family. Keep my focus upon you and Your love of me and all. Thank You, O God, for the gift of life. Amen.
