Monday, November 4, 2013 – Psalm 96; Nehemiah 6:1-19 or Ezra 3:1-13;
Revelation 10:1-11 and Matthew 13:36-43

Psalm 96 – Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering, and come into his courts.

 tell of his salvation from day to day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples.
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be revered above all gods.

I’m focusing today on the verses calling me to ascribe to the Lord, the Lord’s glory and strength.

I need to ascribe, affirm, and then profess that God is above all others. God is greater than all that is. God is above all, in all and through all. God is God and no one or nothing can compare to God. May all my thoughts, words and deeds affirm that I seek to worship and serve God with all my life.

The reason I reversed the two sections of Psalm 96, is that once I ascribe to God the glory due God, then it naturally leads to my wanting to tell of his salvation, his love, from day to day. At times I find this hard to do, but if God is God and loves all then I need to share that love with others and then hope that they will ascribe to God the glory due God’s name.

Great are you, O God and greatly to be praised. Your glory and wonder has been seen in all generations and you are with us this day. May you have first place in my heart and my life. May I seek to honor you through all I think, say and do. Guide me as you open the doors to my sharing your love with others, sharing with them what you have done in my own life besides what you have done and are doing throughout all history. I praise you for you are God and to you I dedicate this day and my whole life. Amen.
