Daily Devotion Friday, November 1 All Saints Day

Friday, November 1, 2013 – Psalm 94; Nehemiah 2:1-20 or Lamentations 4:1-22;
Revelation 6:12-7:4 and Matthew 13:24-30

Today is All Saints Day. For me it is a day to remember all the saints present and past. As we trust in God. As we seek to live in God and God live in us, we become one of God’s many saints, we become holy. So, today focus on the fact that as we trust in Christ we become one of God’s saints, called and set aside for the purpose of glorifying God.

On All Saints Day we also remember saints past. It is a time to reflect on those who touched our life with God’s love, have died but now live on in God’s holy kingdom. Take some time to remember the many saints of God who have touched your life with God’s love.

I think of my parents; Lam and Audrie, my grandmother and grandfathers; pastors from my youth, Sunday School teachers. I also think of those living, one who is seated with me now; Mackenzie who helps me see God’s love each day.

Today, remember saints past and present who have touched your life with God’s love.

Psalm 94 – 17 If the Lord had not been my help,
my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence.
18 When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
your consolations cheer my soul.
