Daily Devotion Monday, October 28

Monday, October 28, 2013 – Psalm 91; Zechariah 1:7-17 or Jeremiah 45:1-5;
Revelation 1:4-20 and Matthew 12:43-50

Revelation 1:4-20 – Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, 5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, 6and made us to be a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
7   Look! He is coming with the clouds;
every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him;
and on his account all the tribes of the earth will wail.
So it is to be. Amen.

8“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.….

17When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he placed his right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, 18and the living one. I was dead, and see, I am alive forever and ever; and I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

God is. God has been. God will always be. Thanks and praise be to God that we can trust in God. Thanks be to God also for His Son Jesus Christ who came to show God’s love and is the first born of the dead.

May we place our full trust in God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; for as we do trust in God we will find real life. Through trusting in God, God will reveal to us real life here and we have the promise of eternal life given through Christ. Jesus was dead but is alive forever more. It is Christ who has the keys to Death and Hades.

Today, focus upon how God is the beginning and end of all that is. God is before all things and will be even after all things. So, may we trust in God who was, who is and who will always be.

O Lord God help me trust in you and put my full faith in you. You have revealed your love to us through you Son, Jesus Christ and it is the Spirit who is with us even now to help us experience your greatness and love. I believe, guide me as I seek to serve you and glorify you this day. Amen.

Psalm 91 – You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”
