Daily Devotion Monday, October 21

Monday, October 21, 2013 – Psalm 85; Jeremiah 44:1-14 or Jeremiah 29:1, 4-14; 1 Corinthians 15:30-41 and Matthew 11:16-24

Psalm 85 – Show us your steadfast love, O Lord,
and grant us your salvation.

My friends, God has shown us his steadfast love and God has granted us salvation; both through His Son Jesus the Christ. May we trust and believe in Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 29:1, 4-14 – 11For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.

Now there is a promise to hold on to, a promise to memorize.

I invite you to say this verse over and over again. Sit with it. Listen for what God is saying to you, to all who trust and believe in Him.

This is one of the verses lifted up in the Transformational Ministry classes. Classes for helping people with their finances, with budgeting and with being good stewards of the financial gifts God gives unto us. The point is that God does have the plan, yet it takes us participating in God’s plan to bring about the blessings God gives unto us.

This day, seek to trust in God who has the plans for us, plans for our welfare, plans that do offer us real hope for today and for forever.

O God, may we trust in your promise and seek to walk in your ways. May we love you with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. As we do this our hope will be firmly anchored in you and all your promises. Thanks for revealing your love for us and all people through Jesus Christ. Thanks be to you for your Spirit which abides in us and continues to open us up to your full, abundant and everlasting love. Amen.

Friends, I’ll be taking some vacation time over the next two weeks. My daily devotions may be hit and miss as I enjoy some time for re-creation with Phyllis.
