Daily Devotion Monday, September 16

Monday, September 16, 2013 – Psalm 56; 1 Kings 21:1-16; 1 Corinthians 1:1-19 and Matthew 4:1-11

1 Corinthians 1:1-19 – 4I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, 5for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind — 6just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you — 7so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hear these words; in Christ you are – enriched, strengthened and you lack no spiritual gift which you need to carry out the ministry of Jesus Christ. Wow! We have all we need. Often times the problem is we don’t believe it, nor put it to use. It’s like you were given an awesome gift but you never opened it and put it to use.

This day focus on the fact that you have been enriched and strengthened by Christ. You have all the gifts you need to carry out the work that God calls you to today. So, get up and serve the Lord.

O Lord, thanks for strengthening me and enriching me day in and day out. As I sense your calling me to serve you, may I know that you have given me all the gifts I need and that I can do all you call me to do. With you within me and guiding me I can do all things through you who strengthen me. Amen.

Psalm 56 – 9b This I know, that God is for me.
