Daily Easter Devotion Tuesday, April 2nd

Tuesday, April 2, 2013 – Psalm 98; Isaiah 30:18-26; Acts 2:36-41 (42-47) and John 14:15-31

John 14:15-31 – 18“I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. 19In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. …. 27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.

Jesus Christ IS risen! He IS risen indeed! Jesus Christ IS risen and lives today IN YOU and ME! Thanks and praise be to God for the gift of His son and for His resurrection from the dead.

One of the things I walked away with from my reading of “Fresh Air; The Holy Spirit for an Inspired Life” is that the Spirit is with us. God’s Spirit is with our every breath and abides with us always. Jesus promised us that he would not abandon us or leave us orphaned. He didn’t, for  he rose showing his power of death and sin and as we hear today he promised to send us his Spirit.

As you sense Jesus and the Spirit abiding in you, breathe in deeply and sense how each breath sustains your life. Breathe out any bad, negative, thoughts you may have and breath in God’s Spirit.

Hear Jesus saying unto you this day; “27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.”

Jesus Christ IS risen and lives today in you, in me, in all who seek to follow him. Thanks be to God for the gift of His Son. Amen.

Psalm 98 – 1   O sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things.
His right hand and his holy arm
have gained him victory.
2   The LORD has made known his victory;
he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.
3   He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the victory of our God.

4   Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
5   Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody.

Listening this morning to all the birds, greeting the day that the Lord has made.
