Daily Lenten Devotion Thursday, February 21st

Thursday, February 21, 2013 – Psalm 27; Deuteronomy 9:23-10:5; Hebrews 4:1-10 and John 3:16-21

John 3:16-21 – 16“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

17“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Today, say over and over to yourself; “For God so loved _(your name)_ that he gave his only Son, so that as I believe in him I may not perish but have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send his Son into the world to condemn me,, but in order that I might be saved through him.” Say that over and over again. Believe in him, for through him you receive forgiveness and new life.

Then remember also, that God’s love is for all. So find a way to share it with others this day.

Thundering and raining here this morning. They are saying we could get ½ to ¾ of an inch of ice. So, it’s possible that we’ll end up without electricity and if that’s the case, I’ll be doing my devotions but not able to save or send them out. We’ll see. I give thanks for the moisture. Just wish it wasn’t in the form of freezing precept.

Psalm 27 – 1   The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? …

11  Teach me your way, O LORD,
and lead me on a level path …
