Devotion Day 89 - Through the Bible in 90 days

Day 89 Revelation 17 – 22 (end of our readings through the Bible in 90 days)

Friends today we come to the end of our reading through God’s word and along with the multitude of heavenly hosts I say;

“Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power to our God,
for his judgments are true and just;
(Revelation 19:1b-2a)

“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
 Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready;to her it has been granted to be clothed
with fine linen, bright and pure”—

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. (Revelation 19:6b-8)

I don’t have a clue as to who and exactly what all of the book of Revelation is about, but this I know and hold onto; God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the one who was, who is and who will always be and in the end is the one who will be victorious over all sin and evil. Thanks be to You, O God. Amen.

Something I hadn’t picked up on until this morning, while doing my devotion, is that the bride of Christ will be clothed in fine linen made up of all the righteous deeds of his saints. The true church is the bride of Christ. So, my goal today and through all the days to come is to participate with God in doing righteous deeds so that I add to the threads of her garment of fine linen.

I have a member who used to spin her own yarn. Yarn comes from many, many strands of wool. So it is with God’s garment of fine linen, it is made up of the many, many strands of the righteous deeds of the saints.

What might these righteous deeds be? Loving God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and loving our neighbor as we love our self. Also loving our enemies and praying for them. Helping others and always striving to be the sons and daughters of God that we were birthed to be.

Tomorrow I’ll give a summation of what I walk away with from our reading of God’s word in 90 days. I’ll be thinking on this all day long.

Here’s something for you to think about; what will you cling to as we move from reading through God’s word to simply reading God’s word each day?

O God, I give thanks that we can know that you will be victorious over all sin and evil, that you win. May I strive to always participate with you in righting wrong and bringing in the new day you not only promise us but are bringing about this very day. Amen.

Day 90 a summation of my thoughts on the 90 days through the Bible.
