Through the Bible in 90 Days, Day 13

Day 13 Readings Numbers 32:20-Deuteronomy 7:26

Well my friends, we are now into the last book of the Torah – Deuteronomy. As I read the readings for today I came across one of the passages my Old Testament professor in seminary, emphasized.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Not bad advice for all of us as well; love God and keep God’s word and God’s commands with you everywhere you go and pass them on to our children and grandchildren.

Rushed this morning as a member of the church died last night, Ray McKee and I have to head back into Springfield this morning for the second part of a workshop the presbytery sponsored.

So along with me just sit with those words from Deuteronomy and let them sink into your very heart and soul. As we do, I know we’ll find it to be a blessing.

O Lord God, may I love you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and keep you with me always. Amen.

By the way how you doing keeping up with the readings and who can now tell me the two places to find the “Ten Commandments?”
