Daily Devotion Friday, September 7th

Friday, September 7th, 2012 – Psalm 25; Job 19:1-7, 14-27; Acts 13:13-25 and John 9:18-41

Psalm 25 – 1   To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul. …

4   Make me to know your ways, O LORD;
teach me your paths.
5   Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long.

Friends in Christ, I want to use today and tomorrow as transitional days in my daily devotions, for beginning next week I’ll be sending out my thoughts/reflections while reading the Bible through in 90 days. I’ll be doing this with a small group of people from Community Presbyterian Church. It’s been several years since I read the Bible through from Genesis to Revelation. It will be good to do it again and I’m anxious to get the whole overview of God’s word once again from beginning to end.

So, what I’ll be doing is reading God’s word in the evenings and then reflecting on what I read in my morning devotions. My daily thoughts will vary as God’s word varies from being history telling, to being poetry, to being Gospel.

I’m attaching a reading schedule to this devotion so you can join us if you’d like. I’ll also post at the beginning of each of my daily devotion’s the reading for that day (at the beginning) and the reading for the next day (at the end).

In today’s Psalm we hear; 4   Make me to know your ways, O LORD;
teach me your paths.
5   Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;

I believe in reading through God’s word from beginning to end, we will get to know God’s ways and His paths. So, consider joining me in this adventure of reading God’s word from Genesis 1:1; “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” to Revelation 22:21; “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” Day one of our reading through God’s word will be this following Monday, September 10th.

If for any reason you don’t wish to receive my daily devotions, just let me know and I can remove you from the list I use to send out my daily devotions. Here is a link to the daily readings as posted at the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) website, just in case you desire to continue to follow the daily readings of the denomination. May God add His blessings to our reading of his word, no matter how we read it. Amen.
